Are therapy sessions at Ashlar Evolution confidential?

All therapists at Ashlar Evolution are accredited and registered with at least one professional body in the UK and/or internationally, operating to strict ethical codes.

As such, every therapist at Ashlar Evolution is ethically bound to maintain client confidentiality about therapy enquiries and session content. The exceptions are if you give information to your therapist which represents a danger to yourself or others, or if you share details of activity with criminal or safeguarding implications. The therapist is legally bound to contact the relevant parties or authorities in such scenarios. So if you have any concerns about confidentiality, please discuss this hypothetically with your therapist so you are certain of the confidentiality framework in therapy.

Does my therapist talk to anyone else about me?

All registered and accredited therapists are required by their professional membership organisation(s) to consult with a clinical supervisor on a regular basis. This is to maintain professional standards in service of the clients. A clinical supervisor is an advanced practitioner who acts as an experienced mentor. But rest assured that supervision discussions are covered by strict ethical codes. If you are one of the selected clients who is discussed by your therapist in supervision, this is in your best interests in order to offer you high standards of therapy tailored just for you.

Do you record therapy sessions at Ashlar Evolution?

Sessions are not recorded. We take client confidentiality and security very seriously.

When a therapist is undergoing specialist training and is required by their training institute to record examples of therapy work for professional assessment, the client is always asked in advance and gives written permission for limited recording of session content. Please raise any questions or concerns with your therapist in the first instance, or contact: sarah@ashlar-evolution.com
