Fees

  • I offer a 20-minute exploratory phone call or Zoom meeting free of charge to explore what you’re looking for, so we can discuss if working together would be a good fit. After that, full sessions of 50+ minutes are chargeable.

Individual therapy £155 per 50-minute session by Zoom.

Couple therapy £155 per 50-minute session by Zoom. Longer couple therapy sessions are available for 60 minutes at £175, or 75 minutes at £185, 90 minutes at £200, or 2 hours at £255.

Equine-facilitated therapy £130 per 60-minute session. Sessions take place outdoors, with interaction on the ground and no riding.

    Supervision

£125 per 50-minute session by Zoom.

Usual frequency of supervision is monthly.

    Online sessions

    I work on Zoom.

    Session frequency

Client therapy sessions are generally held weekly or fortnightly, to be agreed between us.

    VAT

VAT is included in the above fees at 20%, as a requirement by HMRC.

  • Supervision

    £125 per 50-minute session.
    £180 for a 90-minute supervision.

Usual frequency of supervision is monthly, either in person or on ZooI.

I supervise counsellors and psychotherapists. As a supervisor accredited by COSRT, psychosexual and relationship therapy work is also part of my supervision portfolio. I also supervise equine-facilitated sessions, as well as clinical traumatology work. I’m a supervisor accredited by BACP and COSRT.

  • My cancellation policy is 3 working days’ notice, otherwise the appointment fee is payable. I often find that I am holding diary time in good faith for much longer than the notice that clients may give for cancellation, so this policy helps to address the balance of risk and commitment.

  • Sessions on Zoom: I ask for payment by online bank transfer either before arriving at the session, or within 2 working days on receipt of invoice.

Card payment: payment by card is possible in person using Settle. Remote payment by card is also possible via Stri.e

  • For therapy funded by private health insurance, Sarah is registered with many providers including Cigna, Healix, Vitality, Aetna, Aviva. Referrals from Bupa or AXA are no longer being taken.

Please let me know in advance if you’d like to claim on your health insurance, so we can make arrangements for your sessions to be invoiced directly to your insurance company.

Otherwise, I can invoice you so that you can claim on your policy for reimbursement.

If private health insurance is being used, I ask you to obtain from your insurer the billing details such as your membership number and authorisation code. You will also need to check that your insurer accepts invoices where VAT is added by the provider.

Please note that you will be liable for any shortfall in reimbursement by the insurer, such as but not limited to a policy excess or exceeding the level of cover on your policy if there is a financial limit to your claim.

  • Sessions are being held on Zoom.

I am happy to work to an agreed number of sessions, so you know the amount you will be spending. Or we can work in an ongoing way, where you simply let me know when you’re ready to make the next session the last one.

People often ask how many sessions they will need. Some clients come for a few weeks, others for many months. Either way, you can decide how long you want the counselling to last. It may take some time to reach a deeper understanding of the issues, before finding the most appropriate changes or ways to resolve difficulties. The number of sessions may depend on your desired outcome and the length of the evolving conversation. But we can monitor this as we go along, so you feel in control of the process.

When starting therapy, I ask clients to commit to an ending session in person so that we can wrap up the work together satisfactorily. Many clients say that endings in social or family relationships can be difficult, so that’s why I uphold attendance at an ending session as an important part of our working relationship.
